SIBIU INDEPENDENT newspaper presents briefly the main weekly news from las week in Sibiu County area in English.

A 5 weeks old baby left by her mom in a ditch on a country road in north of Sibiu County raised outrage in the local community and nation wide. The baby was found by a a group of workers and it is safe in hospital. The Child Protection Sibiu services found the mother. Many people throughout Romania offered to adopt the child.

The scandal involving the former leadership of Sibiu Chamber of Commerce takes a new turn. The current board asks former president to pay 2 milion Euros as prejudice.

Sibiu International Marathon started to promote the social causes to run for. Sensorial House of Little Johns Foundation in Cisnadioara is the first project registered. It raises funds for a sensorial place for children and yoth with mental challenges.

National Brukenthal Museum in Sibiu launched a competition for a new visual identity brand.

Man found dead in Sibiu abandoned house was murdered. It is the second death that takes place in few years in same house. The community raised question of lack of involvement of authorities.

Young man from India was found working and staying illegally in Sibiu. He is suspected that he crossed the border illegally.

Two young Ukrainians footbal players found safe heaven to a local team in Sibiu. Here they can continue their practice.

Angelika Maurer, the local student that went missing on February 8th is still searched by police and volunteers in different areas of Dumbrava Forest with no success yet.

SIBIU INDEPENDENT reavealed in early February that in Cârțișoara village, close to Sibiu City there are at least 4 illegal trout aquafarms. The local authorities started an investigation and presented the results. Still more questions are raised. The entire scandal started after a legal aquafarm was closed due to hemorrhagic sepicemia found in trout. But the illegal ones continued to operate.
